Description

A new PC game mixing the real world and made-up stories to the point where nobody knows what is real and what is not. This time the core of the gameplay is geolocation.

You are given a heap of dashcam images taken every minute (around 4000 of them) and your job is to reconstruct the routes taken. You will deal with three things - a home-made image browser to see the footage, an older navigation unit with a map on which you will pinpoint car positions (typically within 50 m/150 ft is OK), and a notebook with a diary revealing the story.

Images are real, redacted for privacy, and were taken in the last few years during trips through Poland and other European countries, so you can (and will have to!) use every geolocation technique you know. Google Maps, Google Earth, StreetView etc. all will come handy, so being online is preferred.

You don't have to identify every photo. Routes are divided into stages, and to progress only guessing the location of the final photo of each stage is required. Every other location is optional, but each one can supply clues that make finding the stage end easier - and give additional information about the main story (combining family secrets and historical events).

Previous games / background

My earlier projects - The USB Stick Found in the Grass and The Case of Andrew D. - focused on digital forensics and OSINT, geolocation was useful as one of many tools needed. Many players loved the geolocation part, and I decided to treat that as a sign of what you want more of in the next game.

Release

A demo is available now: download it and play, it covers first day and shows the basic mechanics (it will take up to several hours if you are new to geolocation, probably about an hour for veterans). The full release is planned for 2027 - as of now (October 2026) materials are collected, the story is still in draft.

Game will be released in English and Polish for sure, other languages are considered.

OS & hardware

Windows version is sure, Linux version is in plans, macOS version status is undecided. All the demo needs is a properly working W10 (or later) machine, it uses below 2 GB RAM and 1.2 GB of HDD space. Full game will need more space on disk (> 6 GB), other requirements won't change.
